This
monument
perpetuates
the grateful remembrance of
Mjr Joseph Gould,
who was many years Deacon
in the Church of Christ in this place,
who after a life of exemplary piety
died June 9, 1803,
AEt 77.
His sould dismiss'd from cumbrous clay,
Expediates in eternal day,
And with the great Jehovah dwells,
And wonders vast and new beholds.
